Autism and Radicalisation

Autism education specialist with expertise in radicalisation and extremism to deliver a training package on safeguarding children and young people on the autistic spectrum from radicalisation. and extremism.

The training is aimed at practitioners who work in local authorities to support the education sector (schools, colleges, universities and other educational providers) to build resilience to exploitation, grooming, and radicalisation. The training would achieve the following aims:

Improve understanding of how processing and communication differences in people with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) may make someone vulnerable to radicalisation.

Improve understanding of how individuals on the autistic spectrum may present radicalisation safeguarding concerns differently.

Improve confidence in how to safeguard children and young people on the autistic spectrum from radicalisation.


Previous attendees have come from diverse organisations including the Police , Youth Justice Service, Probation Service, Social Care.

Duration:

The length of this course is flexible.
It can be from 1.5 Hours to a full-day.
